1. Service Description

clkr.me provides a free URL shortening service. When you submit a long URL, we generate a unique 6-character short code and store a mapping of that code to your URL on our servers. This stored mapping is what makes short links work — when someone visits your short link, we look up the stored destination and redirect them.

We also collect anonymous click analytics (country, device, browser, referrer) for each short link. These are accessible via our Stats page using your short code. See our Privacy Policy for full details.

No user account or registration is required to use the service.

2. Acceptable Use

You may use clkr.me for any lawful personal, educational, or commercial purpose, including:

• Sharing long URLs on social media, messaging apps, or emails
• Creating short links for marketing or promotional content
• Simplifying URLs in print or digital documents

3. Prohibited Use

You must not use clkr.me to shorten URLs that link to:

• Malware, viruses, spyware, ransomware, or other malicious software
• Phishing pages, fake login forms, or fraudulent websites
• Content that exploits or harms minors in any way
• Illegal content under the laws of India or the destination country
• Spam campaigns or bulk unsolicited messages
• Sites that violate the intellectual property rights of others
• Hate speech, harassment, or targeted abuse toward individuals or groups
• Sites designed to deceive users about their true destination

We operate automated and manual moderation. Links reported by users are reviewed. Links receiving multiple reports are automatically removed and permanently banned. We reserve the right to remove any link at our discretion without notice.

4. Data Storage Acknowledgement

By using this service, you acknowledge and accept that:

• The URL you shorten is stored on our servers for as long as the short link exists
• Anonymous click data (country, device, browser, referrer) is recorded each time your short link is clicked
• If your original URL contains personal or sensitive information, shortening it means that information is stored on our servers

We do not store who created a link. Once created, we have no way to identify the link as yours.

5. No Guarantee of Availability or Permanence

clkr.me is provided "as-is" with no uptime guarantee. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue the service at any time without notice. Short links may stop working if the service is discontinued. We recommend not relying solely on clkr.me short links for critical long-term use cases.

6. Important Disclaimer — Third-Party Links

Although the domain is clkr.me, every short link points to a destination chosen by the person who created it. clkr.me has no knowledge of, control over, or responsibility for the content at those destinations. The use of our domain does not mean clkr.me created, verified, or endorses the linked content in any way.

If you click a clkr.me short link and it takes you to a phishing website, a scam, malware, or any harmful content — that is the responsibility of whoever created that link, not clkr.me.

We strongly encourage you to report any harmful link immediately. Reported links are reviewed and removed promptly. Links that receive multiple reports are automatically removed.

7. Limitation of Liability

clkr.me accepts no liability for the content of destination URLs. We do not review, monitor, or endorse any content that short links point to. Users are solely responsible for the URLs they shorten and share. We are not liable for any damages arising from use of this service or from links created through it.

8. Abuse Reporting

If you encounter a short link pointing to harmful content, please use our Report page. Links receiving three or more reports are automatically removed. Our team reviews all reports.

9. Intellectual Property

The clkr.me name, logo, and website design are the property of clkr.me. You may not reproduce or replicate the brand for competing services without written permission.

10. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms at any time. The date at the top reflects the most recent update. Continued use of the service after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.

11. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Any disputes will be subject to the jurisdiction of courts in India.
